Kate and I went out for dinner and it ended up being a very interesting night.
We went to a Balinese restaurant. It was really satisfying. I got a soup that was a cross between ramen, and coconut curry.
I had a sparkling wine from Alsace. I had an amazing herbal, fruity, iced tea. Then to top it off a had a kumquat crush, I think it was called. I only had kumquat for the first time maybe a year ago. I used to think it was a word my dad had made up. But it's very real, and very tasty!
The waiter gave me a fan from Bali and asked me to write him, though I don't think I will.
Then on our way home we ran into a friend of Kate's. He took us to a pub win what they call the Bermuda triangle, a small area with three or four different bars. The joke is that you could come and never leave!
The patrons were artists and students. Really friendly people, most of them seemed to know each other already.
I'd like to go back to Saarbrucken some day soon. I liked the atmosphere, and the people who lived there.
The images are from the ceiling of the pub.
I dont think you should write the waiter either, he sounds like bad news. As a matter of fact I heard from a very reliable source he's totally bad! Yep you should just forget about that one.
