I cooked dinner!

Lentil, with curry spices, onion, leek, and garlic.
Arugula salad, with homemade red wine & peiselberre (I'm not sure on the spelling) vinaigrette, and feta.
A glass of red wine.
And a lit candle.

A letter to my dancers

A Letter to the Dancers of Centennial School
Genevieve Dunn
July 2012

Dear Dancers of Centennial Elementary School,

You are a dancer; dance is a part of you.
It is something you do, and it is something you can feel.
Maybe you want to be a professional dancer.
And maybe you don’t.
But either way always dance for the love of dance itself.
Other people may make you feel good about how your dancing looks.
They may tell you how graceful you look or how beautifully you move.
But even so, don’t dance for them.
They may make you feel bad about your dancing, criticizing the movements or telling you that you left out some particular step.
So don’t dance for them.
Always,
Dance for yourself.
Dance because somewhere inside you there is an impulse to move and groove.
And if you share that joy of dancing with the world,
You are giving the world a gift.
And the world will give back to you.

Sincerely, your teacher,
Ms. Dunn

Finishing with AmeriCorps

I wish I had the time to finish my stuff for AmeriCorps before I left. Because I am out of time to do it. It is very stressful.
I am drinking mint tea and planning out my day. I didn't get everything I need at the store yet. I need to cook dinner tonight and complete my self eval, and my reflection project.
I am also in this intensive program. It can be a lot to take in.and to put out as well.
Our graduation is early in the morning on Wednesday. I'm nervous to get everything done, and to get enough sleep to do class the next day.
I really wish I could both do this course and be there for the graduation.

The view from the station.

Last night I took the S-Bahn home. I was standing with Helena, she's from New Zealand, and I noticed that you could see the cathedral from inside the station.

A bar on a man made beach...

Yesterday we went to a bar on the canal. It was in the middle of the city. But it looked like a beach in Miami.

Donau river

I went with some friends from the class to the river, to escape the heat!

Claude Debussy!

I found that in the U-Bahn

A lovey walk

It is lovely to walk around the museum quarter because they have bike paths and a side walk under the trees. It is cool on even the hottest of summer days.

Francesco's!

We have become regulars at the local Italian restaurant. The service is fantastic, the food is mouth watering, and the atmosphere is very pleasant with good conversations and good drinks!
Rosina took pictures of me with my desert!

Chapter4 of July 22

You know what, here is the rest of the photos I took that day.

Chapter3 of July 22

Here are photos from the volksgarten!
The bronze confetti is actually an at art piece at the gallery in the garden. It was a lot of fun!

Chapter2 July 22

Here are more photos from my exploring!

Chapter1 of July 22

I set of for the day with the aim to explore Vienna, and boy did I ever!
I ran into my friend Rosina, she is from Peru and lives in Spain.
We found the folk art museum! Which I am dying to return to! Then we took photos of this beautiful side street.
And then got brunch! I went on with my adventure, and she went home.

An interesting concept for a restuarant.

On the 21st I went to dinner with a handful of young women from my class. They told me it was an Indian restaurant and I love Indian!
I must say it wasn't the best Indian I've ever had but it was tasty nonetheless.
The part I found most interesting was that there was no set price. It was a buffet, you could take as much food as you want and then pay as much as you can, or as you feel was appropriate for the meal. Though there were set prices for drinks.

Below are pictures of my new friend Rachel, from Malta, with me at the restaurant.
